Hoagy! with The Chris Ingham Quartet

A perennial favourite at Ronnie Scott’s and at festivals around the UK, Chris Ingham’s Hoagy! show is packed with the songs and stories of one of America's most enduring and endearing songwriters.

Accompanying Chris for this heartfelt celebration of the music of Hoagy Carmichael will be trumpet player Paul Higgs, drummer George Double and bassist ​Geoff Gascoyne. 

This acclaimed project has already yielded two splendid albums, both of which will be available at the gig. The show will be in two parts with the first half starting at 2-30pm. 

Rob Tognoni

Known as The Tasmanian Devil, Aussie guitar great Rob Tognoni has been gracing stages worldwide for the past 35 years. Rob’s style is fiery, energetic, inventive and explosive.

His roots are from the blues, blues rock & classic rock but he also adds many other colours to the palate to give him a unique sound. Echos of Cream, Jimi Hendrix and BB King can be heard woven through his musical fabric.

Rob and his rhythm section will be doing two sets. An afternoon of top quality blues is assured. 

Barb Jungr

We are thrilled to bring award winning singer Barb Jungr to Venue 16. 

Barb is one of the most versatile and stylish vocalists on the jazz scene. 

Her latest album, My Marquee, sees her interpret songs by many of the acts who used to grace the stage of one of London’s most famous music venues.

For her Ipswich debut, Barb will be joined by pianist Jenny Carr, Jonathan Lee on drums and Richard Sadler on bass. They will be doing two sets.

From the late 1940s to the early 1990s, tenor saxophonist Stan Getz was one of the great, individual instrumental artists in jazz.

As jazz itself went through many phases, Getz as a player was remarkably consistent, producing album after album of poetic, swinging music.

In GETZ: A MUSICAL PORTRAIT, the Chris Ingham Quartet interpret a rich and varied selection from the repertoire associated with Stan, playing tracks from their acclaimed CD entitled simply Stan.
